To make a claim, just head to your HandyPay app.
Simply go to the ‘Explore’ tab > tap on ‘Insurance’ > select Bills Protection and press ‘Start a claim’. From this point onwards, you just need to follow the instructions in your app.
If you are usually employed for at least 16 hours a week and are unable to work due to accident, illness or involuntary loss of employment you can make a claim immediately however, you will not receive any benefit for the first 30 days you are unable to work for bills protection, after that if you are still not working we will pay your claim up to the maximum benefit limit.
If you are claiming for a hospital stay you can make a claim immediately however, you will not receive any benefit for the first 48 hours you are in hospital.
Make sure to prepare any relevant documents you may have – you’ll see the exact list of documents you’ll need in the app while making your claim. Some examples that you may need are:
- A note from your GP to confirm that you are not able to work
- Notification of job loss, proof of the accident or proof of hospitalisation
- Bills invoices that you file a claim for
- Proof of payment from your HandyPay account - see how to download a transaction statement here
Once you’ve submitted the claim, you’ll receive an email confirmation from Qover to your registered email address. After that, simply wait for further updates about your claim from Qover.
