Will my GBP account work after the end of the Brexit transition period? – Help

If you live in the UK:

If you have a GBP account and live in the UK, there won’t be any changes to how your card or account works. Your account will still be regulated by the FCA and issued in the UK by PPS UK.

After 31 December 2020:

You’ll still be able to spend, send and receive money
You’ll still be able to send money abroad
There won’t be any increase to your fees because of Brexit

If you live in the EEA: it will depend on the use you have given to your account

If you haven’t used your GBP account in a while:

If you haven’t used your GBP account in a while, you’ll have already received an email from us with the next steps

To recap: if you wanted to keep your GBP account open, you needed to use it (to make a card payment, top-up or receive a payment) by 31 December 2020. If you didn't use it by then, we closed your GBP account and you won’t be able to use it anymore.

If you decided to keep it, we moved your account to our EU licensing partner PPS EU SA on January 1 2021. We gave you a new sort code and account number, which, unfortunately, doesn't work for Direct Debits and incoming CHAPS payments.

At the same time, Paypoint and Post Office cash topups in the UK will not be available. Alternatively, you can top up cash with Paysafecash in your EUR account and later transfer it to your GBP one.

You’ll still be able to receive payments to your original account number, but we recommend you update to your new one as soon as possible.

If you have an active GBP account:

So we can still give you our services after Brexit, we’ll be moving your account to our EU licensing partner PPS EU SA on January 1 2021.

Opening a GBP account after 1 January 2021:

From Jan 1st 2021 we are temporarily suspending the creation of GBP accounts for customers outside of the UK. We are working on a solution to make this available again in the near future. In the meantime, you can keep enjoying your EUR or RON account(s).
